I have some pretty serious love for Rose Tyler. You have no idea. Like, my senior/junior year of high school I started watching Doctor Who and Rose meant the world to me.
Lets talk about Rose Tyler. She comes in, kind of as a no one. She didn't finish all her schooling, she lives with her mum, she works at a shop. Her mascara is clumpy like the rest of our's. She didn't have perfect makeup, or little hipster-y esque dresses. She was unappologetically Rose. She's not shaped like a model. Her isn't always shiny and ready to softly fall back down around her shoulders.
I don't understand people who want to be the Doctor. He is this sad old man, weighed down by guilt and pain. His companions come along and while they don't make him forget, they make him a bit less sad. These regular people come along, and show him a new way to see the things he has already things. The Doctor can seem magical, but it's the small humans who bring the magic.
"In 900 years of time and space I have never met anyone who is not important."
So back to Rose Tyler, in all her pink and yellow glory. Our nobody. Our everybody. We get to go on this adventure in the TARDIS because Rose is a no one. Rose has no background history with the Doctor, She didn't grow up with the Doctor and fish fingers. She wasn't raised to be an assassin to kill the Doctor. Her past and the Doctor's are completely separate.
Don't get me wrong, I do love Amy and Rory and River and Clara. But their whole existence has been influenced because of the Doctor. Before they are themselves, they are the Doctor's companions. They are harder to relate to, because they come in with this connection to the Doctor. And if you've watched Doctor Who for a while, I guess you too also have this connection.
But we are no bodies. We are the ones who know nothing, who are just along for the ride, and that is so important. So fucking important. In that moment we are the companion that keeps the Doctor human, it's because of us that the wonders of the universe stay awe inspiring.

Mel's Turnaround :or: My puppet is DONE BABY
Mel Turnaround from Abi Freeland on Vimeo.
I am so proud of her. So. Fucking. Proud. y'all have no idea.
I have a ton of instagram photos of Mel's coming together, which I will prolly make into a collage and put onto my deviantArt soon. If you want to see them before I get to that, my instagram is just abifreeland. If, I dunno, you wanna check that out.
I also post pictures of my cat. If such things interest you.
Fun fact: origanally, I wanted her name to either be Melanie or Roni. But now I now someone who's name is Roni, so her name got defaulted to Melanie. And now Mel. It just fits her somehow, ya feel? But then I did her hair, and about when I was almost done, I realized it was kind of River Song hair. Which, as a giant Doctor Who fan, I flipped out about for a good 20 minutes. And then I realized her name was Mel. Which, as a ginormous Doctor Who fan, also made me flip the fuck out. I mean, that's just cray. It's almost like the plot of Let's Kill Hitler. Again, freaking out here. I planned none of this. For the longest time she was going to have strait long hair, I can show you my concept sketches if you don't believe me.
So, how about a pick up line, and then sometime later this week I'll try to write an actual, legitimate post.

A lil project of mine
Hey y'all, how ya doin?
I just realized, as I was typing up the title, that I'd had my left earbud in for about 20 minutes, and hadn't turned my music back on yet. Aaannnnd there's the sweet sound of the Violet Hour.
Okay, on to my project. I've seen posts about how our vocabulary is slowly dwindling. Slowly, but surely, we are getting complacent with the words we're used to using. We should be adding words and sayings, not easing them out! Or, or, replacing them with words like swag and yolo. (I will admit, I say these words every now and then. It's like a guilty pleasure. But you know what? YOLO)
And so, I propose a project. A project of expanding vernacular. I'm not saying, just looking up SAT words and throwing them around willy-nilly. Ain't nobody got time for that shit. But we have alot of overused words, that might be excellent words, but they just aren't getting the point across like a different word might be able to.
Like good. How are you? I'm good. How was it? It was good. Did you like it? It was good.
Why was it good? What gives it it's goodness? Maybe we could use a different describing word, that would express the goodness, while also saying why we thought it was good. Words like, brilliant, gorgeous, amazing, amazeballs, precious, wonderful.
Let's start a word revolution. Start mixing up what wordage is in your sentences. If we all do a bit here, and a bit there, it will grow on other people, and then they'll rub off on other people, and the idea will spread before the masses even realize what's happening. It'll be like a flashmob of vernacular. (Vernacular is a fun word. I learned it from Shawn Spencer, and it's made an impact in my life since. And it's fun to say.)
Pick up time, what whaaaaatt
Yes pleez

#feelings. ::or:: I'd like to be consistantly happy for a bit.
This isn't going to be super long. It's just feelings, pouring out. Plus I'm tired, but I don't want to go to sleep just yet. I prolly will after I write this.
I just sometimes feel like I want to sleep with someone. Not fuck. But just be close to someone and fall asleep. Is that weird? I don't even know. I just think it would be nice. You could even cuddle, and share bodywarmth. I think it sounds lovely. Maybe it's just me....
On another not, over the past 2 months, I have found myself incredibly attracted to Tobuscus on YouTube. I don't know why about that either. I just wish I could hang out with him, and be his friend. And play video games with him. That's not weird either, right? Totes not.
Have a picture of him. I'm contemplating potentially drawing this picture, with my awesome colored pencils, just cause he looks happy. Even with the bandaids on his forhead.
On a different note:
In philosophy, we're talking about personal identity, and I was just sitting there, like, Doctor Who addresses this in Journey's End. Oh. This was talked about in the Forrest of the Dead/Silence in the Library. This is just like The Almost People/Rebel Flesh. It's weird how taking philosophy after watching Doctor Who, and even after reading comics, I feel like I've heard a bunch of these theories before. It's weird. I mean, I like feeling like I get what's going on, and that it's not all new information.
On Monday, my Grandma is going into surgery. I really love my Grandma, and over the past couple days since I heard, everytime I think about being in this world without her, I start feeling like I want to cry. It hasn't been as bad today, possible cause I'm not PMSing any more. Thank goodness. But I'm still really worried. If y'all wouldn't mind praying, or if you aren't into praying or God, or whatever, if you could send positive thoughts for my Grandma in surgery, that would be great. And maybe some thoughts and prayers for my friend's mom, who is also in the hospital, and they're all worried. (Danielle, if you're reading this, I love you. And I am praying for y'all. <3 I know with everything going on, you might not read this, but I don't care. I adore you, and I want everything to work out fine for you and your family. And I'm cool with proclaiming my love for you in front of the internet. Even if you never see it.)
All in all, it's been kind of stressful, the past couple days. I am really looking forward to Thanksgiving break. Though some highlight of my week have definitely been the recent Lizzie Bennet Diaries.
Here's the latest one. Though if you really want some cheering up, you should look for the ones with Fitz. I've watched those episodes several times the past few days. And Nevermind the Buzzcocks. Which is also a very wonderful show, and a favorite of mine.
Pick up line time!
......I really do like pick up lines.
And finally:
Dear Toby, if you ever happen to stumble upon this, and you'd maybe like another friend, you should consider me. I am normally pretty decent at using proper grammar, and I'm funny sometimes. Other times just awkward. But I'm sure I could still be a good friend. If you'd like references, I can get some.

School starts super soon :or: Mo' Picture Spam
So, I've been anxiously awaiting for school to start again as I've had a pretty boring summer. And I really missed everybody. People are already starting to come back!! But, as I've just been meandering through my summer, I haven't had a ton to blog about, but I have been stocking up pictures. Pictures which I wish to share. With y'all. You're welcome.
I have added a new person to my list of favorite people who are wonderful and perfect and even though I don't know them I'm so happy they exist. And the person is CARRIE HOPE FLETCHER. She's amazing and wonderful. Her YouTube channel name is ItsWayPastMyBedTime.
I'm counting the Pride and Prejudice quote as the pickup line for this post. Cheers <3

Are you my mummy ::or:: I'm a Whovian now, Whovians are cool.
I was watching one of the more heart breaking episodes of Doctor Who again. You know the one. "He will knock 4 times.," "The Doctor must take up arms," "I don't want to go." I realized something for the first time. Something I feel is vaguely significant. He will knock four times. I don't think the oods were talking about the Master. The Master didn't do any knocking. Yes, there were the drumbeats in his head. But I don't think that's what the oods were talking about.
I'm pretty sure they were talking about Wilfred. It explains so much more about how the Doctor acted. He knew if he switched places with Wilfred, he was securing the fact that he was about to regenerate. He confuses poor Wilfred, and even though I never doubt that he'll end up making sure Wilfred gets out safe and sound and back to Donna, the Doctor thinks about all the things he could still do. All of time and space waiting to be seen, to be witnessed. But he hears those four knocks and he answers.
And let me just say how much I love that the last two people he sees are his bestie, and Rose. He just looks so very happy to see Rose one last time, smiling and happy. I don't always ship, but when I do, I ship Rose and Ten.
While I'm sad I won't see Ten again till the next time I re watch all the Who seasons, I'm super happy, because my favorite episode is coming up. Van Gogh was my favorite artist before the Doctor, and Vincent and the Doctor just confirmed and re-established that favoritism by over nine thousand. Plus I love Amy.
And, more episodes with the weeping angels!! They're my favorite baddies. Which is weird, cause mannequins freak me out, and now angel statues freak every one else out, but I love them. Seriously, I want to get a weeping angel statue, put it behind a tree somewhere on campus, and move it bit by bit every so often. See how long till people notice.
On another note: I am about to start reading the Deathly Hallows. I need to prepare myself for feels concerning Tonks, Fred, Remus, and Moody. Not to mention the feels for everyone they left behind. Especially George. He was so young, and his twin is gone from him. He'll never have another Fred :( ROWLING, WHY YOU KILL THREE OUT OF FOUR OF MY FAVORITES. Though if we bump Oliver Wood, Seamus Finnegan, and Luna Lovegood up, the average gets a bit better. It's still sad, though.

The Angels have the phonebox; or my sister's birthday gift

So, my sisters birthday is at the end of July, and normally I have no idea what to get her, and normally end up getting her money. But not this year! No! For I have had an idea.
I have decided. I shall make a set of mugs, (well decorate a set of mugs.) And they shall be Doctor Who themed. If you don't know Doctor who, shame. Go out and get yo'self learned about this spectacular phenomenom. Though, you might get hooked. Out of all of my friends who've witnessed this lovely lovely show, only one has not fallen in love. (Apparently she doesn't like Sci-fy. She hasn't even seen Star Wars :/ But I love her anywho.)
These mugs will be a set of two. They'll both have "The angels have taken the phone box" quote on a side, and "Don't blink" in the very bottom of the mug. And then one of the mugs will have the Tardis, and the other will have a weeping angel.
I'm rather proud of this idea, too. I'm planning on doing it on Wednesday, so hopefully it turns out nicely.
My family's just finished the forth season, with Donna. And I'm so proud to announce, they've grown to like her more than they originally did. They had thought she was annoying, which pissed me off a tiny bit, because she's my favorite. I mean, I love Rose, and I ship her and Ten like nothing else, I adore Amy and Rory, but Donna is just my favorite.
She's so compassionate, and yes, she can be loud, but she's so loving. She was willing to have her brain be burned out, just so she could stay with the Doctor. She knew how lonely he is. And she wanted to stay. The Doctor Donna. The most important woman in the universe.
And I ardently love and adore her. I just want her to be happy.
Plus I want to be Catherine Tate when I grow up.
